3. What is the difference between an original and an aftermarket remote?

Original (OEM) remotes are made by the TV manufacturer and are identical to the one that came with your TV. Aftermarket remotes are made by third-party manufacturers and are designed to be fully compatible with your TV — often at a lower price. Both types work the same way for standard functions.
